Foreword by the writer

One of the most important tools in every individual’s life is the knowledge that he/she has about himself or herself. The importance of this knowledge is in a way that none of the human abilities can fill this vacuum. Indeed we can say that self acquaintance has a priority in comparison to other knowledge and it is really important. Having knowledge about you is the great and main base of every movement. You can not develop without knowing yourself. Indeed knowing yourself is the main point for every progression and decision. Unfortunately this important matter was commissioned to us neither during childhood nor during youth.
Our parents did not teach us to know ourselves and the dept of our human being. They never thought us how to think, how to search or research, how to study, how to assess our abilities and how to solve our problems after finding their solutions. Self acquaintance is the best knowledge and we need this ability for making any decision. So if we want to evaluate our surroundings we require this confirmed necessity so much. We can not mention the names of all of them. But self acquaintance has a direct relation with our existence in varied societies.

Our parents struggled so much and they sought the best things in different dimensions for us; but many of our parents ignored this knowledge and maybe did not want to do that. Anyways, we are the one that we are today. Maybe it is necessary to know ourselves right now. We must try to see what is the current “I” humbly and impartially? And how is “I” and where is he? If we know ourselves for sure we can solve the problems of our lives better. When we know ourselves, we will certainly treat some concepts such as love, hatred, happiness, sorrow, poverty, wealth, hunger, fullness, friendship and animosity …in different ways and maybe better. So if we cooperate with each other in this field we will succeed to know ourselves better. To do this activity, we must know a summary about our past which is so necessary for the knowledge which we want to get for our futures. We don’t aim to teach history or to describe religions, but only we want to review your past.

A summary of our existence:

If we study the history of humans, we can find out that the mankind has always attempted to find more information in this field. Human has always struggled to know himself. He has attempted to realize what he is? Who he is? Where has he come from? Where will he go? And why he has been created? …….

Since thousands of years before the birth of Christ the outstanding and famous scientists have provided different types of theories and these theories were gradually more complete. They later named this wise knowledge philosophy. They defined its duty in this way. They mentioned that this science is to state thoughts, analysis, and phenomena and to respond the questions of humans.
It is mentionable that based on the characteristic that human has, he will make some mistakes and that never a complete philosophy was found to answer all the human needs. As a result still this science is not finalized according to a stable and unanimous base.

Whenever new theories are stated by the main philosophies that sometimes the pronunciation of these theories is fair for some of the scientists, and they wish to show their knowledge and scientific powers to each other by stating the complicated lists of these philosophies, but I don’t aim to refer to these philosophies, so in this case I do not use complex vocabularies. The interested people in this field can refer to Persian and other sources.

During this long-term tact, for sure some non-philosophical thoughts have existed as well. These thoughts played an important role to destroy the societies of humans. Those thoughts that were not philosophical and had no any analysis were called religion and we people had to obey a person or a tribe without asking any question in this field. We could also understand that the aspect has been resulted from an extraordinary human power ant it was sufficient for us to know that they have been taken from Adam and Eve. We would not feel to ask any question in this ground, of course many of these religions would be obeyed without any consideration at the beginning, but later when humans were developed and the science of mankind was progressed, many questions were mentioned in relation to religions; as a result many superstitions were forgotten. Gradually a few number of the religions which were more reliable and logical were left.

But here I do not discuss them and I don’t wish to state the list of these religions. Indeed most of these religions had nothing but only to provide powers for a special class of society; the people of society would be used by some wrong thoughts and superstitions. Even today we can observe some of these aspects in some places of the world.
But some philosophical thoughts were more harmful, if you want to get so much information in this field, you have to study history, I myself have never seen a teacher of history lesson to be satisfied completely of this lesson. Maybe the pains of history cause some disorders in the spirit and mind of humans.

Like Medieval in Europe or in Russia, or the attack of Arabs to our sacred country which has been left as a historical crime souvenir of mankind. Of course you Iranian people know these issues better, because the number of crimes have been so much in this field and each of you have heard a section of these crimes.

Among these skirmishes of mankind, there are two tools for self acquaintance, some neutral people who looked after science. These people would seek scientific issues and most of the times they would succeed in their works too. They provided many developments for the life of humans but they did not pay attention to themselves so much. Indeed those neutral people who did pay attention neither to philosophy nor to religion attempted to provide reasonable information for us. Still there are many people who follow their paths. Maybe someday we will be successful to be more realistic about these issues.

It must be stated that religions have always been as barriers for the movement of those neutral people who wanted to develop in this field. Many scientists were killed as they were considered that they wanted to interfere in the God affairs. Indeed the superstitions had influences the minds of many people and they would behave as extremist and since science was against their considerations, they would attempt to be against science.

Later this resistance was broken and those extremists instead of fighting with science attempted to use it as a tool for confirmation of their religious theories. They aimed to create a hard challenge between philosophy and religious persons. At the moment these activities are being continued in some countries. We must consider this issue that those people who lived before us attempted to make many developments and progressions on the earth so that today we can know our surroundings better and we can say that there is a big gap between us and our respectful ancestor Adam. But have we reached to this objective to know ourselves? Do we know our abilities and disabilities?
For sure human has varied and different angles and these issues have caused that self acquaintance to be more difficult. It can be said that the belief that we have towards ourselves is so far away from reality. Even if we claim that we know ourselves so good, we must know that we are making illogical judgments about ourselves. The main reason is due to the difference of thoughts that we have towards other humans. It has been always necessary that a third party to make judgment about us, so this theory can be considered an important thing to say that we must consider things without any prejudice.

So the main issue is self acquaintance which can be considered an eternal capital for us and it can bring us peace and tranquility.

I must mention this issue that self acquaintance is not only relate to those mental and psychological issues about you. Of course that can be a part of self acquaintance. But the main purpose of self acquaintance is getting a general knowledge related to body and spirit. The belief irregularities , lack of love and passion, existence of pains and conflicts cause that we feel some disorders inside ourselves as a result this “ I” does not enjoy life so good and he will face with depression and disappointment. Here I have mentioned some of the poems of my respectful teacher:

* Why don’t I know anything about myself?
* Who am I to say that I’m me?
* Why I have been born?
* Who can show my homeland?
* What will happen to me finally?
* What is my death, my grave and my shrouding?
* Again I wonder how to know myself, so what is this spirit that exists in my body?
* Sometimes I see this cage which has surrounded my human being, but I like to talk with others!
* Sometimes I’m a human and sometimes I’m an animal, sometimes I’m an angel and sometimes I’m a devil!
* Sometimes I’m so depressed and it seems that I’m a bittern and sometimes I’m like a parrot that likes sugars!
* Sometimes I have a pen but I can’t express anything, but sometimes I can express everything!
* Sometimes I’m deeper than pottery, sometimes I’m the decoration of Eden Pearl
* Sometimes I’m flexure and sometimes I’m not, Sometimes I’m in the land of error and mistakes!
* Sometimes I sit on the top of a high mountain, Sometimes I’m in a plateau!
* Sometimes I’m such an owl in ruined places, sometimes I’m like a canary in a garden!
* Sometimes I’m plunged in abomination; sometimes I see beauty in virtue!

The abovementioned poems are a section of a satirical poem and it seems they want to show the perfections of humans! This movement which is the main point of accomplishment and it can be considered as the first method to cure agitation. By moving from nescience to sagacity, from darkness to light, from the lack of self acquaintance to access to self acquaintance, we will be able to solve this spiritual turbulence. We will behave like a strong creature with a transparent knowledge and then we can pass this life by enjoying our sorrows and pleasures.
